About

History

4-Profit is the culmination of many years studying business and people from outside the fish bowl looking in – an analogy we often use with owners to stay focused. We’ve had the good fortune to be employed at vendors, distributors and solution providers. These varied experiences have allowed us diverse points of view on how to maximize your leadership and the success of your business.

Prior to our channel focus, the principals of 4-Profit ran a similar business bringing together the best practices of entrepreneurs in disparate industries in order to drive business growth. One component was a national radio show on entrepreneurship. Through the show, we had a unique and extraordinary opportunity to meet entrepreneurs, business owners, academics and authors from all walks of life. We interviewed such legends as Richard Branson, Wally Amos, Ben and Jerry, Sally Fields and Lillian Vernon. We read, learned and “listened”. We ranked, stacked and even created a “Hall of Fame” for entrepreneurship. But most of all, we trained ourselves, honed our lines of questioning, and explored the key entrepreneurial traits we found in these exceptional people. We asked the question of “nature versus nurture”. Are entrepreneurial traits born or made? What correlations can be made between entrepreneurship, leadership and the propensity for success?

In our combined 25 years of coaching, we’ve met many different personalities and leadership styles. Some are quiet, while others were outrageous. Some have significant prior industry experience, while others were “technicians” who evolved into business ownership by some life or employment event. We look to help each and every one of you reach your dream, whatever that may be.

“Larry and Chris at 4-Profit have provided valuable insight and service to Avnet through the depth of experience they possess. They continually deliver valuable education and facilitation services that have improved and grown the individual businesses of suppliers, distributors, and solution providers, as well as the effective interdependence of all three.”
